Acty System and CSR activities in India

The relationship between Acty System and India began at a time when worldwide shortage of IT engineers was expected due to the 2000K problem and there was a lot of talks about the issue of over work faced by domestic engineers.
At the time, India was experiencing poor social infrastructure, roads were in shreds, and autorickshaws (aka three wheeler taxis) filled the roads wiht cars driving through them. There would be a power outage whenever it rained. So I walked to the nearest Xerox copy shop to get a photocopy and a long distance phone shop to make a call to Japan. Of course, there were manay slums and poor people were living their daily lives unemployed. I still remember it.
Thankfully, this Indian project has came to be hugely appreciated by our business partners in Japan, India and other continue to grow wiht India, blessed with some good fortune and good people. We feel Acty System is loved by India, and we love India too.
Under such circumstances, we began to explore what we can do for the country of India and the people living there, and accordingly started CSR activities more than 15 years ago with the support of Ananda Hospital in India, and we have continued to do so without interruption.
Acty System looks forward to continue providing our humble support.

About Ananda Hospital, the origin of our CSR activities

When I was looking for ways to contribute and give back to India, which I have had a connection with since the company was established, I came across the India Welfare Village Association in Toyohashi, Aichi prefecture.

This chance encounter gave me an opportunity to learn more about the indian Welfare Village Hospital (local name:Ananda Hospital). Ananda Hospital is located in a farming village near "Kushinagar" in northern India, which is known as the place where Buddha attained nirvana, and has been providing medical care since 1998.
For residents in rural areas where there is no hospital nearby, the presence of Ananda Hospital is crucial, with nearly 100 people visiting the hospital every day. In recent years, in addition to medical examinations, we are also focusing on educating people on how to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
Although Kushinagar and Acty System are not in a direct relationship, we have been making donations continuously for more than 15 years, impressed by the hospital that is working hard every day for the health of local residents. The donations are used to fund the hospital operations, which indirectly contributes to the health of local residents.
Acty System has also been conducting overseas training for new employees since a few years ago, and at that time, we also make them visit Ananda Hospital. Being in an environment that is different from Japan and seeing local doctors earnestly treat each patient is a valuable experience for new employees that cannot be obtained elsewhere.

Expansion of CSR activities

In 2011, when Acty System started supporting Ananda Hospital, there was no official CSR policy or law in India.
On the other hand, when Acty System increased its bases in India and conducted local recruitment activities, I understood the reality that in small villages, it was normal for children to help their parents as adult workers rather than focus academically. The simple reason was poverty, along wiht prevalence of health problems faced due to malnutrition.
We felt that it was necessary to help poor families first, so we decided to focus on education and medical support as much as we could. On the other hand, in 2013, a new company law came into force in India, and companies that generate profits above a certain level were now obligated to also spend on CSR activities. Therefore, we are working to expand and enhance our CSR activities by conducting the "E-learning Project" and "Establishment of the Acty System Foundation" jointly with NGOs with a proven track record in India.

About the E-Learning project

In addition to our recruitment activities, we regularly visited small villages to meet and talk with school teachers.
Arter all, teachers also want to find jobs in bigger towns and cities, which has led to a shortage of classrooms and teachers in small villages.
And hence we decided to create an E-Learning environment, starting with the installation of Internet and educational hardware and software in public schools in these small villages. The educational content covers the syllabus (lecture summary) approved by the indian government, which has enabled many children to receive education efficiently at the same time, while reducing burden on teachers.

Establishment of Acty System Foundation

In order to expand our unique CSR activities in a more active and professional manner, Acty System registered a new foundation, the Acty System Foundation, in 2022 and we are now able to voluntarily care out various CSR activities
Acty System would like to continue to move forward together with the people of India.
